Seriously, what are the promotion qualifications for a newbie to advance to a not newbie?

Yes, I was jesting (and don't call me Shirley!).
I just joined last week so I was looking around the site and when I got to the member list I saw most members were categorized "newbie" and some were tagged "Knows where the search button is". Some of the newbies have been members since 2004.

Pretty funny bowersst! I think becoming something other than a newbie requires a certain number of posts. Dawg posts a ton. So he's an addict. I just read so will alas, remain a newbie. (I'm reading all the information on the new crackberry due out late this year.)

Thanks guys. I figured it was something like that. Think about it, though. There could be some really stupid person out there posting all sorts of idiotic questions, not understanding the answers and posting more follow up questions and BAM! they get upped in status because of it!

I dont care about post count to be honest but at the rate I read this forum who knows. But Mark has been here from the beginning and I am not worthy of polishing marks shoes to be honest or Jibis or any of the other mods they are the ones who help people i just like to run my mouth.
