What is PIN Locking and how do I use it. I recently installed Yahoo GO! and it told me to activate my PIN Locking..??

What was that supposed to do? It (Yahoo GO) still connects without prompting for a password.

Yahoo Go does that. Hence the warning from yahoo to lock your device. And there are other reasons as well to password protect your blackberry. That's what 'that' does.

ok sorry, not following you. Yahoo GO does what? Setting up a password didn't seem to do anything to Yahoo GO. I can still connect without a pssword, in addition to everything else working the same.

When you installed yahoo go and ran it the first time, you had to log in to yahoo, right? From that point on, yahoo go does not prompt you for a password. Yahoo go gave you a warning to 'PIN lock' your mobile device. In otherwords, enable password protection on you blackberry. A blackberry password.

Go into the security options I pointed to and look. If you want (and I advise you do it) enable password and set an appropriate timer.

Ok, got it. I thought the password would be required for all applications, not for the blackberry as a whole. I was confused as to what the password timeout time meant.

FYI I'm not sure how on your model, but there is a keyboard shortcut to lock the device, too. Set the password timer to something convenient, and reset as needed depending on where you are.

ok, but does yahoo go use the blackberry's PIN to access email? this would be bad because the PIN travels with the Blackberry
