I have been using the gmail client for my 8830 and then the Storm.

Today I got the Tour, do I need to continue using the gmail version or is has RIM made gmail better for BIS users?

I thought I had read that they where going to make a plugin for gmail users that better supported imap

The push e-mail is working. I dont know about the stand alone app.

I have the same issue, but haven't seen any answers. I wonder if anyone has tryed RIM support?

I contacted RIM tech support while I was contacting them about the OS 4.5 to OS 4.7 profile changes. They weren't aware of any issues and tried to pin it on Gmail's HTML format, but then they sent a test message in HTML format to me. Their text came in fine, but their disclosure was HUGE. They checked the format, and they said that the email was set to be a 7 font for the text and 12 for their disclosure - yet on Outlook, there would never be a difference in size. They always come in the same. Then at the same time, I signed up to be notified by RIM when the Tour's "pocket" comes into stock, and the same thing happened - HUGE text. As soon as I downloaded the one image I had, came out of the email, and back in, the text shrank and changed colors. I forwarded them all of these emails and we went through a bunch of different scenarios...so they have a bunch of different situations to look at. What they do with it? Who knows. I was also told to email I outlined all the differences from OS 4.5 to OS 4.7 that seemed to be a nuisance or that don't make sense for an "upgrade." Hopefully they'll update these soon...but I'm not hopeful, as OS 4.7 has been out for quite some time now on the Storm and they haven't changed anything.

Always interesting how they don't seem to know of issues that are so simple to discover and happen to people who are "just normal" smartphone users. I have had the big font issue with my last two phones and yet they didn't know about it.
