Default New Blackberry Issues

Please Login to Remove!

Hey, I've just got a new Blackberry Curve 5820 today. I'm trying to browser the internet through Vodafone's but it just isn't letting me do. I also tried to opt in for the special offer but said that 'service was unavailable'. Have a missed a step out or something? The gprs symbol is at the top - but not in caps. Does this make a difference?

Thank you. And any other 'getting started' tips would be really useful as the guide that came with it is pretty rubbish.

First do you have a BlackBerry data plan (service specifically for a BlackBerry)? Sounds like you don't. Call your service provider and add it to your account. Or, if you did buy it, ask your service provider to double check your account and fix whatever is not right.

Second, this is a forum of members from all around the world. You can't assume everyone know what you are talking about. So: What special offer? What exactly? Assuming there's anyone on the forum who would know, they may never even open your post.

Yes. grps means no data GPRS means data.

Do you have a blackberry data plan? If not none of the blackberry services will work including internet, mail and BBM

Thank you everyone. The guy in the shop seemed to be implying that I did have a data plan, as he told me to change my current plan to include internet browsing.
I'm sorry - I realise the are people from all over the world, it's an offer for cheaper internet for the next few months.

The regular smartphone data plan will not work for BlackBerry services. You need to ask your service provider for BlackBerry data service.
