You are absolutly correct. I have the one you can transfer from BB to BB. I have done it on about 5 BB's when I had them pearl to 8830 to curve to curve etc... I just did it from my VZW to Sprint Curve without a hitch.

I am now a windows mobile user as none of the ATT BB's had the 3g support and I wanted WIFI and did not really want to pay 199 for a BB. Also I needed an email client to support imap and I could not find one for the BB, but can do it on wm 6.1.
