When reading emails, there are short cuts to take me to top/bottom of email, etc.

When editing emails, are there short cuts to do the same? sometimes I type very long emails & do "save draft" along the way. but that takes me out of edit mode. when I get back in, I'm at the top of the email. scrolling down w/ track mouse can take a long time.

Erm...while reading an email (not sure if T and B apply in that case, but will in email list) you press space and it will scroll down.
Press T and it will go to the top, press B it will go to the bottom.

In those cases, its a shortcut key, not something that needs to be "typed". You're not entering it anywhere, just pressing it will give the corresponding shortcut and it will work.

I think you misread the OP's question. He/she asked if there are shortcuts while editing or composing a message...not while reading a message.

I'm not aware of any shortcuts or other method of navigating around a message during composition...other than the pad/track ball/jog wheel.

No, there's not. You scroll to where you need to go with the trackball/trackpad.
