I never rename the file. What I do is a create and backup folder and copy the files into it then delete them and replace the ones that need to be replaced.

It is really quite easy...nice having all the themes. As mentioned all you need to do is save the blackberry.alx in case you need it again..just swap with alx with the one posted for your carrier and delete vendor file as mentioned. Thanks to all that contributed.

hi, n00b here.

I got my pearl today. Upgraded to the latest TIM ROM, and unlocked all themes (not bad in my first day huh!!)
However my vendor code is 123, and its a T-mo UK phone...any ideas why?

You can go to BlackBerryFAQ to find the OS listed by each carrier.

Just out of curiosity why do you want the Rogers OS?

Can anyone tell me the fastest theme they have found. I find the pearl to be a little slower at processing info than I thought it would be.

I find that the TIM theme is pretty fast. I also really like the look of the icons.

sorry im a complete nood when it comes to this but i located the bb.alx file... opened it with notepad and then im stuck. what exactly do i change? i have a bb pearl for rogers and i think my vendor id is 107. What exactly do I change in notepad?

when i try to dl the new os. which one do i click? 4.2.1 or 4.2? and i too wanna know how to get the themes. but i dont know what os to install. on pinstack it says the file should only be 78mb the one i try to dl is 170 mb. some one help please?
