Default Cannot connect to exchange server

Hi, after working perfectly ever since I had the phone, my 9300 curve now wont sync with my outlook, I get an error message saying "cannot connect to exchange server"

Can anyone tell how to resolve this issue?

Many thanks, Mark

Try pulling the battery. when it powers up look for the indication it is validating the security software.
Also does it connect to the internet ok? If not there may be other issues and more detail is needed on the trouble.

Is the device personal or work? If it's work, you should probably contact your IT people.

Hi, no it's a personal device. Usually it just synch seamlessly every time I connect it to my PC, but last week, just decided not to. Pretty frustrating, as I run my own business and all my appointments and contacts are on my PC on microsoft outlook. Now I cant transfer them over.

Cheers, Mark

Do you have a Blackberry data plan active on your account?

The error "cannot connect to exchange server" is kinda odd(to me at least) for a personal BB using BIS. Let's see what others say.

Did you play with options or add any new Apps? It should not be attempting to get to an exchange server unless it's on a corporate BES server. You say push works ok and it's a personal. do you have a Blackberry server at your compay?
I agree with Devnull.

Hi, no new apps or changing settings. If it helps, the error box is titled "intellisync" and the rest of the message says "please check server access or provide valid password"

We don't have a blackberry server and i do not use the enterprise server option for my email, just the internet.

Shall I try uninstalling and re installing the desktop software? As its trying to synch with outlook, is there anything I should look in in outlook?

Cheers, mark

markturner, by any chance the error message your are getting say this instead?

"Cannot log on to Exchange Server. Please check server access or provide a valid password"

Which is slightly different than the error from your op. If so, see this >> Cannot log on to exchange server - BlackBerry Support Community Forums

I had the same problem with my 9700. I connected my berry to my computer and opened the desktop software. Clicked on Organizer and selected "reset settings". I had to reset each of the settings but it only took a minute. After my berry rebooted the problem was solved. Jan 25,2012.

If the OP is only using a PC version of Outlook and sync's using desktop manager it must be an option on the PC/DM. I would make sure the settings in DM refer to Outlook as the default.
