Default Rejuvenate your Storm, get rid of the screen protector!

Please Login to Remove!

I had a screen protector installed on my Storm during the first week that I got it and I have been using it for about a year. I don't remember what type of screen protector it is but it was installed by a guy at one of those shopping mall kiosks for $10. He claimed it was military grade and virtually bullet proof.

Well about a month ago I decided to get rid of the screen protector as I was having problems typing emails and texts. I just couldn't seem to hit the correct keys anymore. Another annoying problem I was having was during email deletion. When you would try and select one email, it would selected three or four. Surfing the web would also drive you crazy because you couldn't scroll web pages without selecting text.

So after trying numerous screen and keyboard settings, ( I use the settings, 100-100-6) I removed the screen protector and now it's working like it's brand new.

My new every two contract isn't up until next spring but this change in performance should keep me complacent until then.

Traveling guy,

I had the Storm 9530 and used one of those "military grade" screen protectors. They do work but they also WILL degrade over time and need to be replaced. With heavy use a touch phone screen protector should be replaced about every 4-6 months. Beyond that the protector begins to look terrible and will cause the problems you experienced.
The last 4 months I had the Storm I kept it bare. The screen is very durable but it will begin to show signs of wear over time. It WILL get scratched and it can chip.
I am now on the Droid X with a Zagg shield and a Seidio case / holster combo. I only went Zagg because I do so many referrals to a certain mall kiosk that I get my shields now for free. But honestly, the cheapo sticky screen protectors are just as good and very cheap. You can usually get three for less than the price of a Zagg and use those three 4 months a piece for a solid year protection with a nice looking screen.
