I can't seem to add a new contact to my Blackberry Messenger on my 8800 (os 4.2.172 - platform 2.3.0.54) using a contact which is already in my Address Book which *has* a PIN. When I try to add that contact to BB Msgr, it asks me which email address (he has two) to use, but doesn't offer me the opportunity to use his PIN.

Don't I need to add via his PIN for bb msgr to work?

What am I doing wrong?

The only other entries I have in BB Msgr were added using their PINs and when I view them from BB Msgr, it shows me their PINs.

Add Contact > Address Book Opens > scroll up to and highlight USE ONCE > Click Menu > ADD BY PIN.

When I do that (Add Contact > Address Book Opens > scroll up to and highlight USE ONCE > Click Menu > ADD BY PIN), my BB only gives me the option to add by email. It does not give me the option to add by PIN.

Is something screwed up with my phone?

When your address book comes up, highlight the contact you want to add (don't click the trackball) and hit menu and select add using PIN.

I was just having the same issues. WHat you have to do, when you click add a contact, highlight Add once, press the menu button, and it'll give you the option to either request by email or request by pin. Hope that helps!
