Unhappy Trackwheel not working! Need to learn to get to my texts without it!!!

Please Login to Remove!

Okay so I am retarded and washed my phone a while back and fried it (LG Shine it was a peice of crap anyway) so my mom found a phone outside at her boyfriend's moms house and gave it to me since it works. Only problem is the trackwheel doesnt click. Moves up and down but wont let me click. I text alot and cannot for the life of me figure out how the hell to get to text messages or send one instead of a freakin email and its pissing me off! I dont have time in the day to have an actual convo so I text. I have an 18 mth old and a 5 mth old so no time to actually talk since one of them needs something like all the time unless theyre sleeping! Thanks to anyone who can help. Its a bb 8700 not sure if its anything more specific but the pic matched when I looked it up on yahoo.

Okay scratch that! I found how to get to the texts but it says I have no messages and I sent a message from my husbands phone to mine. I tried to see if maybe it had something to do with the email but it says I need some sort of password. Any advice?

Your phone is password protected. You will need the password that was setup for that phone by the user. After 10 failed attempts, the phone will wipe clean.

Hi, well I don't know if ou did find a way around it at all, because I am hoping that there's a button that I can assign the "click" of the track wheel to... I have the same problem, I can navigate no problem, and when selecting something, I press the enter button, but for replying to texts and things like that, I can't get to the menu... anyone with a suggestion??? I greatly appreciate it

Trackwheel fix on Bold!

From time to time my trackwheel won't work in one direction or other, here's what I do: pour a tiny drop of booze (I use bacardi but I guess Vodka and gin would work as well) into the booze bottle lid and very carefully allow a little f this booze soak into a Q Tip (cotton bud) then without flooding the trackball rub it on the track ball and move it around a bit and then in a few seconds the trackball is free. Warning! Don't mix the bacardi with coke!!!

While, technically this would work. There are safer means to clean your trackball. If it doesn't roll in one direction, power the device off, press hard on the trackball and roll in the direction that's giving you trouble. This will clear the debris from under the ball.

Also, this thread is about trackwheel devices (8700), not trackball devices like your bold.
