Default Newb - need help configuring personal email on Curve

Please Login to Remove!

Hey everyone, I'm new to the BlackBerry lifestyle and to these forums so hopefully I can get some help...

I want to configure my Curve to get email from my school email (which is an IMAP server) and from Gmail (don't know what serve)

My Curve isn't activated yet, but when it is I want to setup my email first thing!

I know there's some fields I have to fill in with servers and things like that - can someone please tell me what to put into the fields when setting up my email on the BlackBerry?

THanks in advance...

Here is how I setup mine for gmail:

Blackberry Gmail Configuration

Blackberry
To configure IMAP for your Blackberry, just follow these steps:

Enable IMAP in your Gmail settings.
From your BlackBerry home screen, select the Blackberry Set-up icon, then choose Personal Email Set-up. (On older devices, just look for the Personal Email Set-up icon.)
Select Personal Email Set-up.
Accept Terms and Conditions.
On the Email Account Set-up page, enter your Gmail username (including '@gmail.com') but leave the password field blank. Select Next.
You'll see a screen that says 'We are unable to set up your email account.' Select 'I will provide the settings to add this email account,' then Next.
Select 'Internet Service Provider Email (POP/IMAP),' then Next.
Select 'I will provide the settings to add this email account,' then Next.
You'll see 'The BlackBerry Internet Service could not configure [your email] account.' Select 'Provide The Settings' to add email account.
Enter your Gmail username (including '@gmail.com') and your password, then Next.
Enter 'imap.gmail.com' as the email server, then Next.
Select OK.
Below your newly added email address, select Edit.
Select Advanced Settings at the bottom.
Make sure the port is set to '993' and 'Use SSL' is set to 'Yes.'
Select Save.
If your email set-up was successful, there should be a new-messages icon on your home screen labeled with the name of the account. Once you see this icon, follow these steps to ensure proper configuration:

Open the mailbox icon.
Open the menu by pressing the jog wheel or BlackBerry menu button, then select Options.
Select Email Reconciliations.
Confirm the following settings:
Delete On: Mailbox & Handheld
Wireless Reconcile: On
On Conflicts: Mailbox Wins
Select Save.
Check our recommended client settings, and adjust your client's settings as needed.

The setup wizard is pretty good at stepping you through the whole process. Like the link above, get the info from Google and you should be good to go. So long as you are setup with BIS and a data plan. Also, you should be able to get your school's info from your school as well...

Thank you very much guys. Also, does the phone come with it's own, personal blackberry email address? i.e. [email address]?

My phone is in the process of being fully activated, so I don't have an email setup icon or anything on my home screen yet

Wirelessly posted (8700g)

For tmobile, the domain is tmo.blackberry.net. You will pick your username duirng the setup as far as I can remember.

I would advise you be very selective with the tmo address. There is no spam filter.
