Unhappy Why am I losing my mails?

Please Login to Remove!

I came across something strange lately with my 8520 device.
Months ago, I was working in Thailand and I subscribed for the e-mail alert service(which will notify me whenever an email comes in and i can read it on my device). As i am not a diligent e-mail checker, the number of UNREAD e-mails accumulated up to more than 200, I can know about the exact number from the icon on the device screen(which is a shape of an envelope with the number of unread mails next to it).
then I moved to China...
when I turned the device on for the first time, it showed on the screen that there were 245 unread emails, exactly the number as it had in thailand, and I left the UNREAD unread since then, never opened any unread mail and kept the way they were. But days after, I was shocked to notice that the number of the unread e-mail shown on the screen started to shrink!! it is becoming fewer and fewer mails left in my device...and i don't know where they've gone. and i am still losing them EVERYDAY, now there are only 10 left!
why does this happen! am i being spyed on?!?
plz help.

How much free memory do you have? When certain BBs get low on free memory, they delete things such as call logs, text messages and emails.

Your device is automatically set up to delete emails over a certain number of days old. Each day that passes, your device will delete all mail that is scheduled to be deleted. Check your message settings and change it to "keep forever"

Have you changed the default setting for how long the device keeps messages - from memory the default is 30 days so anything older gets deleted.
