Default BIS to BES done but personal email replies say it's from me BES email

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I recently converted my 8820 (AT&T) from a BIS to BES plan. My personal emails are delivered to my 8820, but the "Received Using:" line in the email says "Unknown". When I reply to the personal emails, it shows that these were sent from my work (BES) email account.

Is there a way to setup my personal accounts so that I'm able to reply to these personal emails from the account that they were sent to ? Looks like my BES work email account is the only one that is able to respond to these even though they were sent to my personal account. TIA !

You might need to resend the service books for your BIS account.

I'm still learning what can and can't be done after having activated on a BES. So far I haven't had any issues replying with my BIS accounts, but if I forward them to my BES, I can only reply from BES account and not with the original account the message was sent to.

This is because your BES admin is enforcing this behavior via IT Policy.
The 'Allow Other Messaging Services' policy setting is currently set to False.
This will force all outbound mail sent from your device to go through your BES account.

There's nothing you can do to alter this, unless you speak to your BES admin and ask them to push you a different IT Policy.

On the device you can select the sent from
when you send an email you can select which address to send from
also you can select which is the default under the options in messages under email settings

I think the one thing to keep in mind is that anytime it shows 'Unknown' for the 'Received using' header info, it means the service book for that message service is not on the device.
