And now it's available directly from T-Mobile as well. The download from BlackBerry didn't include any IM clients or Documents To Go but perhaps the T-Mobile download will.

I just dl the upgrade and it does include IM clients and Documents to Go. Haven't played around with the phone yet to check out any differences, but the speed when moving through settings and apps has definitely increased.

I'm on the fence with this.

Haven't had a chance to test the 3G dropped calls issue. I noticed battery life is better.

One thing though, I don't notice the device any quicker, but I am starting to get the clock popping up more often.

I was hoping for louder audio with the update.

well after getting off the phone with blackberry and tmobile yesterday the 20th of may, the rep at blackberry had confirmed there is a bug in this software, as the mute or lock key does not function properly. only way for it was t downgrade.

Is there any difference if you download it from the T-Mobile site or the Blackberry site?

Default No More N for Next Message?

I loaded this last week and now when I'm in a message and press N to go to the next message, nothing happens. P will still take me to the previous message, though. Has anyone else notices this?

I don't agree with the RIM rep. It is in too many versions of too many operating systems for too many devices. It's a design change. Not a bug.

I installed the preferred version vs the 9700 one, any difference between them?

Anyone with the latest beta see a reason to downgrade to this OS? Does it make 3G work better or perhaps switches to UMA more smoothly?

I had this same question and was having some trouble with the .656 release, so I down-graded. I have been surprised at how well it's working. I have a weekly conference call that lasts about 45 minutes. In the past, I've never gotten through this call without UMA dropping to EDGE or even GPRS. My latest call, with .586, held UMA all through the call. To be fair, I made another call not long after and UMA dropped to EDGE during the call, so it could have been just a fluke. Still, the radio seems better to me than .656 or even than .593.
