ok, I have been researching this, and unfortunatly there seems to be a lot of conflicting opinions on whether BES will work on a Small Business Server 2003.

I cant find any actual documention from Blackberry stating either way whether or not it is supported.

Here is what I have.

SBS 2003, using exchange and sharepoint. Exchange and sharepoint at both accessible from the internet, I have 2 IPs on the server, NATed to 2 external IPs. If I need to add an additional IP for BES to work, thats not an issue.

There are currently 9 users, sometimes there is 10, sometimes, 8, but not alot of users.

So, 2 questions.

One, is setting up BES on a SBS 2003 server supported and does it work?
Two, can someone provide me a link to basic setup in this scenario? I am not a blackberry expert, Im an Exchange admin and have never used BES before.

I have made it work a couple of times.
Can be fiddly with the database.
Wouldn't recommend it though!

I know Professional is supported on Exchange though I don't know if that includes SBS.

Until I got VMware my BES was running on a desktop PC with server 2003 installed and it worked great and I would recommend doing that rather than putting it on the SBS.

Not sure if this is of help to you, but that's my experience anyway.

I assume you are asking whether it will work on the same physical computer. If that is your question, then I can confirm that BPS will co-exist on the same box as SBS 2003.

I have installeed BES onto a SBS 2003 R2 15 BB users and 15 work stations all at under 5% cpu and disk usage dual core 2.2 ghz 4 gigs of ram
I followed Gary's BES install guide for SBS 2003 or Domain Controller

Yes, I am trying to install BES on the same physical server as SBS 2003, which currently hosts exchange and sharepoint.

so, sounds like it will work, ill check out that link from skypilot.

Only other question is, will Blackberry support this setup? If I have problems and have to call BB for support, will they turn me away because its a SBS Server?

BES Pro installed on the same server is officially supported by RIM. An Enterprise BES installed on the same server is not.
