Strange thing, happens from time to time - my BB just isn't grabbing new e-mails and most often it's solved by sending an e-mail to myself.

Yet, today this isn't working - not even a battery pull. Does anyone know the cause and definite solution for such issues?

There is rarely a definitive answer for what you're experiencing. Could be the device, network, cell tower your're near at the time... List goes on and on.

According to your profile, you appear to be using Orange as a cellular provider. Have you called them to see if they are having any outages?

I wouldn't think of outages since they usually arrive immediately when I'm sending an e-mail to myself - it's like the e-mails are stuck and another mail is "flushing" the drain.

Also, it's happening at home and at work, that's like 10km apart. I might give them a call, tho. ;)

Can we assume that you have "Leave messages on server" checked in your PC email client set up?

I'm not using any PC based application for the accounts (hotmail, gmail, yahoo, orange.fr ISP account, orange.fr BB account) connected to my BlackBerry.

similar problem w/POP mail server .. So I deleted the email acct from my BB and tried to re-add .. failed due to authentican error, email address & password not recognized. ISP & BB are looking into it.

just re-did the add email account and it went OK .. hopefully problem resolved
