I agree.... I miss the old screen style of the 7290. You only needed the backlight in dark areas, and it was a lot easier to read the screen in bright sunlight than the newer screen technology.

Just the exact opposite for me. I don't miss the 7290 at all. My 8830 is much better outside.

Can see mine just fine in the sunlight no problem what so ever.
