New user needs help syncing
Please Login to Remove!
I have had a Palm Treo for years and have just converted to a Blackberry Curve 3300. I a in desperate need of help to get this thing synced to my calendar and contacts to my desktop!! I uninstalled all of my Palm software and installed the Blackberry Desktop Manager (4.5). When I try to sync, it says " No applications configured for synchronization". This is my "only" phone so I really need to get it set up. I am still trying to find my way around the phone so maybe I've missed something, I just picked it up last night.
Thanks for any help you can give me!
Annette

I came from a Palm device as well (Tungsten). You need to get your calendar and contacts into Outlook. If you still have your Palm data, you can reinstall the Palm software and have it sync to Outlook.
Unfortunately, because the Palm desktop software is proprietary, it won't work with Blackberry.

You can slso use Google Calendar and Contact sync. Outlook is probably easier however.
If you use Outlook 2000 or earlier, you need Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2/SP3. If you use Outlook 2003/3007, the DM 4.6 or 4.7 should work.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. All of my contacts and appts, etc. are still in my Outlook (2003) on the desktop. I just uninstalled the Palm software. So do I just need to update my Blackberry Desktop Software to a higher level?

The version you have now should work. Just connect the BB, configure the sync and let DM do its thing.

You may need to go into BlackBerry desktop manager and select "Outlook" as your sync application.
Synchronize>Configuration>Configure Synch> (select calendar/contacts/etc.) Choose>Outlook should be listed.

When I try to sync this is all I get " No applications configured for synchronization". As far as configurations, their is hardly anything to configure in the DM. I can't find anything like you stated (Synchronize>Configuration>Configure Synch> (select calendar/contacts/etc.) Choose>Outlook should be listed.) All I have is a place to put a check mark next to "synchronize organizer data"

I'm using DM 4.2 SP2, but the basic path should hold. Don't initiate the synch. Rather look for anything that might give you options to make advanced/additional changes. You also need to have your phone plugged in, otherwise BB DM will grey out a lot of the options.
