Default Cannot Sync All My Contacts to Outlook

Please Login to Remove!

I just installed the new Desktop Manager software and went to sync and only fifteen or so contacts synced into Outlook (2007). The problem is I have hundreds of contacts that need to sync into Outlook, not fifteen.

I researched around a bit, but nothing seems to be the right advice for me. I am stuck. Can someone attempt to please help me. It would be much appreciated.

No error or anything? Just doesn't sync but some of the contacts?

If you just have the stock address book and no google app or plugin or whatever, and just sync with Outlook, I would try clearing the address data base and then re-sync. And then see if desktop manager sync's everything from that point forward.

Right. It just synced those few contacts and that was it; the hundreds of other contacts didn't sync with the few. I have all the settings straight in the desktop manager. Some other posts talked about deleting something on the BB, but I don't have what it was they were speaking of and all my settings are good.

I am stumped. The only thing I can think of is it has something to do with my encryption settings. BB really needs to work on the encryption settings and how they impact everything else. I found that was the reason why I cannot delete pictures off the phone. I wish BB would hire me as a security consultant, so we could straighten the encryption and other security issues up. BB may be the best phones around, but that doesn't mean they cannot be even better.

I've been using content for years on all my BlackBerrys and the various OS versions over that time and never had a problem. I tend to doubt that is an issue.

Did you try clearing the address book and re-syncing?

A corrupt entry perhaps? A photo tied to an entry?

I have no photos for any contacts. I don't know about a corrupt entry. I don't think so though as everything was working fine before the upgrade. Everything else synced except that big chunk of contacts. This is really frustrating.

Aiharkness, thanks for all your help in the past and present. The encryption and security features work as intended, but they are very limited is all I meant - they are not broken. I just wish there were more configuration options. Maybe that is way too much for most users (which is why I suspect the effort hasn't been put into them), but it would be nice to see improvement. I also realize, as far as I know, BB is ahead of the game in this department.

In general, not specific to BB, here is what I am getting at, imagine if your computer had the same security as your phone. That may not bother others, but that troubles me; I don't mind hanging everything out, but I like privacy when I want it. So far, that is limited.
