Default Deleting a theme

Please Login to Remove!

I'm new here and totally incompetent, do bear with me.

I downloaded a free theme from another site, not so much because I liked it, but because it was free. I figured if I hated it, I could delete it.

I hate it, but I can't seem to delete it.

When I go to themes and push the menu button, delete is not even an option there. I have deleted 3rd party themes before, so why can't I now?

Welcome to the forums.

Go to Options > Advanced Options > Applications, hightlight the theme, press the menu key and select delete.

Yes, I'm aware of how to do it, but I guess I did not make myself clear. When I do all that and highlight the. theme I want to delete, delete is not an option. I. get: Download themes, activate, reset theme defaults, switch applications, and close. There is no delete, but I know there used to be, because I have deleted themes before. And to tell you the truth, I don't remember "download themes" being there before either, but I might not have paid attention and maybe it always has been. But there is no delete option anymore.

Where did it go? Does anyone know?

Thanks, by the way. It was good to hear from you.

Right.

You're going to Options > Themes.

You should be going to Options > Advanced Options > Applications.

Thanks, but I tried that and it isn't there either and that still doesn't explain why the option to delete it in themes is gone. I know that option used to be there because that is how I deleted 2 themes previously.

It's going to look like com_plazmic_theme_xxx or something along those lines in your applications list.

I don't think you were ever able to delete themes from the themes list. At least I don't recall being able to do so.

Me neither. Always through "options --> advanced options --> applications" as far as I remember.

i do not have a delete option within themes either, pretty sure it has never been there.
I ahve always had to go to applications and delete it from there.
and all my 3rd party themes are in there as com_plazmic_theme_(theme name).
now that im looking, it reminds me I want to get rid of one that is still in there.
if you cannot find it in the applications list, you can soemtimes choose modules from menu key within applications and see if its in there, never had to for themes but have had to for a couple apps

Try pressing the "delete" button on the phone when you are on the one you are trying to get rid of.

Default Still can't remove entries from Themes

I am still having a problem removing themes I had downloaded from my 8310

Under Options...Advanced Options...Applications I have deleted the themes.
They continue to appear under Options...Themes.
I have tried the last suggestion of highlighting the theme and hitting the delete key, but the themes still are not removed.

Can anyone provide any further guidance or direct me to another thread on how remove these themes and regainthe sapce on my bb?

(Note - help on bb says to select Themes...Menu...Delete - which is not an option.)

Thanks

Did you add these themes from a Windows or Mac PC?

Worst case scenario while in Options -> Advanced Options -> App, hit the menu key and choose modules, try to find the module for the theme.

Thank you Steve

Evidently you cannot just delete them from Options...Advanced Options... Applications, but do need to continue on to Modules (where the deleted themes still exist) and delete them there as you suggested.

It's too bad it is necessary to jump through so many hoops to delete the themes and that RIM has incorrect help instructions. It would be nice if they could correct this.

Thank you for your expertise.

And BTW, sometimes after going into applications and/or modules and deleting... you may have to pull the battery to finalize the removal
and DONT delete a theme when it is the currently active theme

Have you tried a battery pull for 30 seconds?
