Default 7130e Themes

Please Login to Remove!

Tried to upload the 7100 themes to my 7130e - they seemed to load fine but are not available in the themes options upon completion. This is a bummer - the default themes suck pretty hardcore.

Default Not sure what themes you are talking about...

Which 7100 themes are you trying to load? The 7100G only came with one out of the box (default). The 7130E has three out of the box and I think that thet are pretty good. The Verizon default is a little different. For me, coming from the 7100G and Cingular, I really like the fact that the 7130E has the "List" theme; it made my transition seemless.

I like one of the Vodophone themes - it has nice big icons with clear battery and signal displays. The preloaded has a nice list (which I don't prefer) and icon set, but the battery and signal display are in this strange circular form. Not a big fan of that.

Are there any web sites with themes that are available for the 71xx series?

Yeah, same here. They seem to transfer to the phone, but you cannot select them or even see them as an option. Not sure what the problem is.

if you guys are referring to the themes that many of us are creating using the plazmic theme builder, make sure you are downloading the "theme reader" files as well. you will not be able to activate these themes unless you have that file along with the theme you use. hope that helps!

Besides the theme that all the pictures show, and the "list" theme, what is the 3rd theme like?

I had the same problem with my 7100i and the themes in the sticky on this site. I wound up just uninstalling them. The I thought the Nextel theme is pretty nice anyhow. I was disapointed though and would like to know a fix as well.

Any news on these? Also I am looking for a Linux theme like KDE or Gnome. Anyone? Is it hard to make your own themes?

The themes available from Jibi's excellent sticky are OS specific. Check your handheld. I'm not that familiar with the 7130e but just make sure you are using the 4.0 themes for 4.0 and 4.0.2 OS's and the 4.1 themes for 4.1 OS's. If, after choosing the proper theme package, they don't load properly the first time, plug the handheld back in to the computer, open application loader and make sure all the themes boxes are checked and let it load again. I've had the boxes show unchecked for some reason when I know I checked them before loading. That usually takes care of any problems. If you loaded them OTA, I can't help as I've not done it that way myself.

They actually show in the application loader, but they are still not selectable on the blackberry itself.
