I am not a WIFI person. I believe you cannot access the BB Browser without a plan. (SOMEONE CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG). See if you can access Opera Mini.

Also go to options - security and check your firewall

The real solution is to get a BlackBerry data plan. It is not that expensive with T-Mobile, and your device will function properly. By using workarounds, you run the risk of being charged per kb if you do connect over the T-Mobile network.

You may need to go into Options > Advanced Options > Browser and set the Default browser configuration to Hotspot Browser. Otherwise your BB will be trying to use the web browser to connect over WiFi.

with the browser open, hit the menu key, go to options-general properties, select hotspot or wifi browsers. Save those settings. Close the browser, then open it again. You should have the access.

Additionally, Opera now supports wifi. I had a beta version that I used last year, just go to their site and try it out.

Wirelessly posted (Tmo's cheapest BB customer)

I'm with Tmobile and am also data-plan less at the moment. You can use the BB browser, Opera, or even Bolt to browse over wifi. Just do as Rambo said and change the setting for the wifi browser otherwise its trying to use the tzones/web2go one -- that's why you keep getting the message about having to purchase a data plan.

FYI: Tmobile has the cheapest Blackberry dataplan of the major cell providers. If you want you can get it for a month or so and try it out. There's no contract where you jave to get it for an entire year. Its completely month-to-month.
