Default Why do my blackberry freeze?

Please Login to Remove!

My blacberry freezes sometimes when I am on a application, feature, internet or when I am bussy downloading. It is a problem for me because I cannot carry on with what I am busy with. Whenever I am on a application, feature or internet page I try to get out of that page but nothing happens. And whenever I am on a downloading page it just stops downloading. The other option is to switch the phone of but then I can lose any unsaved information. Sometimes it deos not freeze for to long and I can then go on with what I was busy with. Other times it freeze's for a long time. It can be a problem when I must do research on the internet to gain information about something urgently. Or even when there is an application upgrade available where there is a need or must to upgrade. Or when a downloading is almost finish for a movie and it freeze's without downloading the movie finish.
Thanks!

7100t was never that fast to begin with and is outdated speed wise compared to phones made today

Also your carrier may be causing the stall. It's not uncommon and as the use increases for cell data use over phone it may increase.
As knottyrope said the phone is old. I would suggest checking with some others who use the same carrier and see if they experience the same.

OP, really running a 7100t?

The old 64MB BBOS devices can't store many apps to begin with, and it became very easy at the time to fill up the memory and then have low memory issues. But, as already stated, even if you limit the apps to the two or three that you need, the device is still going to be slow. I think the 7100t was GPRS. The 8700 series and similar of that error would be EDGE.

My advice is either update to a modern smartphone or else learn to deal with and tolerate the limitations of a device that is several generations old technology.

And by the way, there is a post on these forums by John Clark that explains how to remove themes and do other removals to free up memory. It isn't much, but when all you have is 64MB in all, removing 2-3 MB is a big deal.

EDIT: Here is what I am remembering...

http://www.blackberryforums.com/blac...ee-memory.html

If you really are using an old 64MB BBOS device, that may help. If you just remove unneeded themes you can free up a MB or so, maybe 2MB.

Going forward it wont make much difference which phone people have if the carriers keep limiting data speeds.
If you do a speed test from your phone the carriers know this and make sure you see a good download. Try going to a site in another area or state and do the test. you may be surprised.

Try a battery pull or make sure you have a current level of OS.
The battery reset will reload/restart all software and should help.
