Default Camera comparison? Curve vs. Pearl

Please Login to Remove!

Has anybody done a camera comparison between the Pearl & the Curve (the Verizon variants: 8330 vs. 8130)? I'm wondering if the camera is any better on the Curve. Frankly, I find the camera on the Pearl to be lacking in most conditions. I know the 8330 has a 2.0 megapixel camera and the 8130 just has a 1.3 megapixel camera, but I don't think the problem with the Pearl's camera is the resolution. I just think it takes cruddy pictures. Well, mine does at least.

Thanks

The 8130 has a 2.0 MP camera, as well.

Oops Thanks for the correction. So, I'm going to guess the picture quality is the same between the two cameras then....?

Nope, well at least not mine. I had a Pearl before my I switched to my 8320, and for some reason the Pearl took much better pictures than the 8320.

I have a an 8130 and am currently demo'ing an 8330 (thru Sprint). I took several pictures with the 8330 this weekend and it does seem to have better clarity than the 8130, even though they are both 2.0 megapixel.

I'm going to take some more comparison pics and compare the settings on both and see which one is better (I'm thinking the 8330).

It's not -- despite the emphasis that everyone puts on MP. My 8310 could be capable of 8MP and still take cruddy pictures. The sensor and optics just aren't all that great. Like most camera phones, it's handy for snapshots but don't count on it replacing a "real" digital camera.

I have the 8130 pearl, and didn't get it for the camera. I am a photo nut and knew a camera phone would never give me what I consider a good pic. One thing I like about the bb is being able to move them to my computer edit
them in Adobe and then load them back.

I took a couple of the 4th fireworks, here is one from phone and then edited and put back on phone and one with a little filter work

Boy did I feel dumb. I kept trying to find the zoom on my camera to zoom into the shot I wanted to take. HA!

I really like having pictures assigned to my phone book list.
but I can't compare between the two phones, can only say from my phone.
