Jibi, I tried doing as you said in modifying the Blackberry.alx file and couldn't find it in my research in motion file. There was not a shared folder for some reason, so I was unable to delete the file. Am I doing something wrong? I have modified my 7100t before by removing the file vendor.xlm, but I cant seem to locate the new one on OS 4.1. for my 8700( just received yesterday)

Should I wait for the download or can you give me some advice?

BTW .....Seattle18....HOT SPIDEY PIC!

Thanks everyone

Did you do a simple search on your pc for BlackBerry.alx? That should tell you were i is even if it is not in the folder suggested.

You are not looking for a folder, you are looking for a file clalled Blackberry.alx. And it will be in the RIM directory, so if you see that file insode the RIM directory that is the file that you have to work with.

I know what I am looking for, but it is not there, neither is THAT folder. I backed up my device and have some other folders in the commom/RIM, but not that one.

Then I would unistall the handheld software on your PC and reinstall it, that ought to create it. Then I would delete the BlackBerry.axl, and go from there.

I downloaded the T-Mo software and modified the .alx file. Went into App loader then system rebooted and the Zen theme was on there. I tried it and did not like it so I went back to the stock theme.

The Zen theme grows on you. I didn't like it at first but now I use it and there is no going back. Profiles menu is a huge improvement. Vertical scrolling through apps is cleaner than left to right, top to bottom.
The secret in my view to making Zen work: set the front convenience key to the default Blackberry Applications List. (If you have seen pics of the 8707 with that key now designated "Menu", it is the wave of the future.)

Ya I think I will give it a whirl again for a few days and see how I like it.

I had the 4.1.0.284 from T-Mobile and then I followed the directions to install the Bharti OS 4.1.0.280. I have the Zen, Orange, O2 themes. The only thing I'm missing in the Zen theme is the Options/Home Screen in the menu. I therefor can't change the icons on the home screen. Someone had the same problem earlier in this thread. Has anyone else had this problem and/or solved it?
