I tried running the JDE simulator on the zen theme, but no go. Does not show up in the Theme list.

OK. I am using a TMO US 7100t. Last week I downloaded OS version 4.1.
(.300). I just used the OTA link to download the Zen theme. It downloaded successfully and I am trying to run things using it right now. It is a little slow at first (so was the BB-Demension theme when I first started to use it. The more you use the theme the faster it will work I have found). It is now running flawlessly and I am trying now to figure out all the ins and outs of the Zen theme (like where certain items are now located). At first glance...its a gem! Thanks Jibi! You are indeed the man.

Are you talking about the BB-Tile Backgrounds that go with the Zen theme?

Go to the search feature here and search "Zen Background." There is one sticky thread I know of that has tons of backgrounds (you just have to resize them as they are sized to the 8700 screen). As far as the browser...try resending your service books to your device (email set up - service books - send all). That should do it.

Resend yourself the service books, either from the BIS site under options, or from the handheld go to options, advanced options, host routing tables, click wheel and do register.

Yeah my 7100t did that. Like I said above, just fight through it for a while. Eventually it will get faster. Not sure why it is so slow to start. Maybe it has to map different functions and once you use them more, it knows where to get the info you want. BB Dimention did this too when I first downloaded OS V 4.1 (.300). Just keep using it.

Is there a version 4.1.0.292 of this Zen or just 4.1.0.291? Is this theme dependant on the dimension-icon theme?

.291 is the applications version of the Alltel software, so thats why its versioned that way. this version will likely ALWAYS differ from any version you have loaded on the 7100 devices (unless you have a 7130e or 7130g/c that includes the theme in the package). no way around that.

on the dependency, to show up in the list, it is not. to activate the Zen theme from the list, it is.

Thanks, I had forgotten to load the dimension-icon theme when I installed the .300 OS. Now it works fine.

so there is no way to upgrade the 7130 vzw to .300 w/o waitng on vzw?

I don't see vzw releasing a new f/w for months, it takes them forever to test things. Vzw seems to be so far behind the ball on things......

Maybe its because of the on board memory? The 7130e has 64MB so it may be faster.

it is not possible, no. the .300 software is only for the GSM devices not the CDMA device. i went ahead and threw up some the device simulators and the Zen theme was not compatible with the versions available. looks like it started somewhere in the .28x range (although none have been released for the 7100 devices to the public) and continue on through the .29x and above releases.
