Question 9650: Security wipe recovery?

Please Login to Remove!

Last night my phone was accidently security wiped and thus losing all my data. The last backup I've done via DTM was a while ago, so it is missing a lot of my data. However, I recently did a wireless update to the newer firmware 5.0.0.1675/5.0.0.103 and during this process it goes through a backup process. Is this information stored on your media card so all my latest data can be recovered (I hope)?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Those wireless updates do not store a backup.

There are some undelete programs out there, but I'm not sure if they cover the wiping of the entire disk. Google about FFUProd

The general rule on backups (phone, computer, whatever) is that frequency of backup depends upon how much you don't mind losing. If you don't mind losing everything, then you don't need to backup often. On the other hand, if you need or want what's on your phone, do regular backups and additional backups prior to making any changes (upgrades) to your phone or anytime you make a lot of updates to calendar, contacts, etc.

I do backups weekly plus prior to all upgrades. Also backup when I cleanup my Outlook calendar or contacts (such as when I changed jobs).

Backups not stored on media card but on computer.

Thank you for everyone's help. I tried several recovery programs without any luck so I ended up just reverting my wiped BB back to an older backup. Thanks again!
