Default Overheating / Battery Drain

Please Login to Remove!

Yesterday I installed the newest OS, the first thing I noticed was that the phone was getting really hot, the next thing I noticed that the battery completely drianed withing a couple of hours (it usually goes all day). I then downgraded to the previosu OS but still the battery drains within 2 - 3 hours. The only new app that I've noticed on the phone is Application Centre and I have unticked auto refresh list.

Is there anything I can do to my phone to stop this battery drain. The phone isnt feeling so hot at the moment but the battery is now almost completely gone (was at 100% 2.5 hours ago). Battery is an official blackberry one and is about 2 months old, this problem didnt exist before installing that update...

Any siuggestions very welcome!

wipe and reload OS.
This can sometimes happen. reloading the OS usually fixes it.

yes or using loader.exe, tell it to remove all applications and user data, as well as check that it backs up first.

No, basically have the OS you want to install, installed on the PC.
run loader.exe, go through the process, clicking on advanced (i think) at some point to chose that it will a) backup everything (and this will backup apps) and b)remove apps and user data before installing.

once you click ok and it goes to update, it will backup, remove apps and user data (effectively wiping it) then install OS, then restore the backup.

oh! yes, well that basically what I did. So, yesterday I downloaded the latest OS and after it was installed that was when I had the overheating and battery drain problem. As a result I deleted the lates OS from the computer and then reinstalled the last OS and installed that using loader.exe which did what you mentioned above, wiped and reinstalled BUT even on the previosu OS i am still getting that terrible battery drain, within 3 hours.

i agree that the blackberry logo is cool, but don't you notice that if the 3g is on then even though youre not using the phone the battery drains much faster that 2g? If not, then why does my phone!? Although I;m just about fed up with the phone now, as I cant get the battery to last more than a couple of hours since yesterday

you still have battery drain, but not the overheating on the previous version?
is there perhaps an app that is running?

i would say use the latest OS and try again.

with 3G on it drops a bit faster, but as im usually in front of my pc for emails, have 3 friends who rarely txt and i almost never make a call, my battery lasts...well quite a while, coz its litteraly sat on my desk in its cradle.

ok i would say use loader on the current OS, and untick app center so it uninstalls it.

I did see this in a version and googled it, found out its for carriers to deliver content, which knowing t-mobile UK they wont till 2080; and it would appear to be something that isnt currently being used.
