I wonder if the new podcast app from RIM was written with pieces parts from Viigo.

The lite version is mainly news. I expected much more development. Then again, I havent seen 6.0.

I am longtime viigo user and even though the app was bloated, it worked very well as a RSS reader. I recently upgraded to the Torch and I am having great difficulty finding a replacement (viigo does not run properly on a Torch). It seems any of other readers I have tried do not have the xxx8216;basicxxx8216; options which viigo had (manually delete individual articles, load up to 300 articles per feed, etc.). Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any recommendations?

Thanks.

I did try Snaptu and I did not like it...maybe I am missing something. Does Snaptu cache the articles (store the 200-300 articles)? Can you delete individual articles as you go down the list? Thanks.

I like Viigo for the fact that I can post items directly to my twitter accounts which in turn pop up on my blog. If and when I go to BB OSv6, if RIM has used Viigo's resources I hope it will be in the same manner. Otherwise might need to look for something new.

I am having the same problem with my Torch. Viigo just doesn't work properly, and I cannot find a replacement. I have been using the stock RSS reader on the Torch, but it tuncates the articles. Nothing I've tried works as well. I find this amazingly frustrating, especially since RIM owns Viigo. Hopefully they'll get this fixed soon, though if RIM handles this the same way they handled the destop manager/Office 2010 debacle, pigs will fly before I can easily read articles on my Torch.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope RIM does not kill off Viigo like this. I am not running BB OSv6 yet, but hope that support Viigo standalone as it is, or beef up the integration they have developed for v6.

I use Viigo, although since I started using twitter, my viigo use has declined. I do visit it every other day or so. I haven't had any technical problems with it.

I still have a use for RSS, twitter just updates too quickly for me and news could just fly by, where as RSS feeds will stay there for to look at my own pace

I do wish RIM would release their RSS app like they did with the pod cast app, but it's no biggie. Plenty of choices out there.
