Default #$@%&*! Bluetooth!!!

Please Login to Remove!

God, I $#^@&!* HATE HATE HATE BLUETOOTH!!!!!!!!

I can't get my Verizon Wireless 8830 to do ANYTHING with my Toshiba Bluetooth 2.0 PCMCIA adapter and Windows XP!

After establishing DUN and Serial connections, the DUN connection won't connect--I get a message within a second or two within my attempt to connect that says "Connection Failed." Nothing more.

The BlackBerry Desktop Manager Bluetooth settings are grayed out. Nothing I do--not connecting with the serial Bluetooth connections, not restarting the machine, nothing--will get the BDM to connect over Bluetooth with my 8830.

Dammit, I'm an MCSE with 12 years of experience in my field! If I can't figure this out on my own with the full Internet at my immediate disposal after TWO DAYS, how the $%#^@! are regular users supposed to!!!???

Man, Bluetooth is absolutely terrible. Just terrible. The protocol should be totally scrapped and re-written from the beginning.

I dont think you can use the Toshiba stack, you need to use generic bluetooth stack, thats how I got mine to work. Do a search for it here - there are many posts, if not let me know and I will walk you thru it.

Let me echo what was posted above.....had a toshiba lappy, oem BT drivers didn't work, followed the steps in a post here somewhere and....it worked. Using generic drivers of course.

Please see Doc ID : KB04132 - Bluetooth installation and troubleshooting. Without these instructions Bluetooth could be a nightmare.

Search on BlackBerry (support section - Doc ID : KB04132)
