I have an 8100 v 4.2.0.64
i downloaded foursquare from the handhelp bb apps link.
i get an error msg. class net.rim.device.api.applicatonconrtol. application permissions not found.

after this i probably enabled all third party permission, but foursquare does not boot up.
any ideas?

I'm thinking you need to be running OS 4.5 for those apps to work.

Look at the stickies at the top of this section of the forum for the latest OS version available. Be sure to read the instructions thoroughly.
