OK, I have an old Dobson 8100 Pearl that I want to use on my AT&T GoPhone plan. Trouble is, it is locked. Won't take the AT&T SIM. Tried to get it unlocked by purchasing the code, but the unlockers want the MEP code. They even pointed me to software to read the MEP, but it didn't work on my phone. Today my workplace got some software that, among other things, could read the MEP code. Worked on other BB devices, not on mine.
The weird thing is, it will sync fine with the BB desktop software, it just doesn't "allow" access to the MEP code.

Can anyone tell me how to get around this annoyance so I can get this phone unlocked?

All you need to purchase the unlock code is the IMEI and vendor name
