My CIO loves his BB 8820, but has asked me for something pretty specific. Right now he has a charging cable that looks like a standard USB cable (it probably is), he can plug this cable into his laptop, or into and adapter for the wall or car. This is pretty handy, but he doesn't like the AC adapter. He would prefer one that has collapsable prongs so it will fit in his travel bag more easily. Has anyone seen such a thing?

Yep, the primary one that is shipped by RIM and included in the box with most (or all of my past six) BlackBerrys have the removable prongs.

I also have two of these, Double-Talk chargers, for both auto and AC. The AC prongs collapse, and the DC charger will fold flat as well. Great for travelling, you get both choices.

Motorola makes them, RIM used to use them but keeps going to these chargers for some reason. You can probably also find them at a RadioShack/Best Buy

Thanks for the info. I know about the adapters that come with the BBs, but he wants a set with theadapter like a described. I sent him the link for he double charger though. Imight get one of those for myself.

If you haven't found what you are looking for, try WalMart in the photo accessories area. I picked this up for 10 bucks and it has the wall and car charger plus a usb cable. The prongs on the AC plug do fold flat.

The collpasable prongs are neat, but the design when engaged is a pain in the neck when you're plugging into a power strip along with a lot of other plugs. FWIW
