Default Desktop Manager Error

Please Login to Remove!

Whenever I hook up and sync my 8830 to the PC, I always get this dreaded error when I close out the desktop manager application. I have tried to close DM before removing the BB and I have tried to remove the BB before closing DM. I have also tried to uninstall/reintall DM. I am running version 4.3.

I guess that I would ask a question, and make one statement:

1. Does the sync complete accurately? Are you getting the information transferred?

2. Consider uninstalling 4.3 and migrating back to 4.2 sp 2. 4.3 has "issues."

Yes everything works fine. I guess I will consider reverting back. Just curious if anyone else had this issue come up

On my windows XP laptop, Desktop Manager will fail when opening. If I re-start the app, it runs fine. Not sure why, it just does it.
My Vista PCs dont do this.

that pic attachment does no good because it doesnt show what the actual error was. you have to click show errror details and then it can be pinpointed to the problem. i am running windows xp with dm version 4.3 and i dont have any problems with dm. do you windows update your computer? some important updates may be missing from your windows system files and that might be the issue.

try and get that error log.

It seems to happen inconsistently. One time, my BB got stuck on the synch screen and was frozen, requiring a battery pull, but AFTER everything synched fine. Another time, BB Desktop Mgr causes that error, and my PC has to be rebooted to make it work. But I haven't found a pattern yet.

4.2.2 is far more stable that 4.3 at the moment.
I have an issue where 4.3 will not launch at all even on a new OS Install (XP SP2). It seems to sit there in the background thinking about itself and never actually opens, if I click the Shortcut again to open I get a white box with nothing.

I had to go back to 4.2.2, in my opinion 4.3 is just a skinned version of what is already there in 4.2.2, given there may be some specific enhancements when it comes to the handheld....still just a skin to me.

I had no issues loading DM 4.3, just issues with it after it loaded. It likes to error and close and they removed sync ability with Outlook 2k.

Its install perfectly but in some instances it would not Launch.
I had it working once upon a time but I find it is buggy beyond belief.

As far as I remember, Sync should still be there, that should not have changed.

I consistently have the problem where DM 4.3 fails when launched. I'm running XP SP2, fully updated. Some days, I launch DM with no problems, other days, launch it 5 or 6 times before it runs successfully. It seems that if I launch with BB 8830 already attached to USB port, it fails always. If I attach BB after launch, it rarely fails.

What features of 4.3 are missing in 4.2.2?

Support for later versions of Lotus is all I remember. I'm using 4.2 SP2 again and all is well.
