Default Torch 9810 - Cannot pair with Docs to Go Desktop

Please Login to Remove!

Replaced my 9800 (OS 6) with the 9810 (OS 7). Everything OK except with pairing the 9810 with my Docs to Go Desktop (Ver 2.0000.055). As a result, cannot sync files automatically as before.

The device is connected. Docs to Go Desktop launched. Docs to Go on Torch is opened per instructions. Start pairing. Fails.

Error Message:
Cannot Connect. Unable to connect to Documents to Go Files on your device. Please confirm you have installed this application and try again. If you do not have Documents to Go Files installed, click to download.

What am I not doing correctly?

I know.. that's my post *after* I finally got through to RIM. Apparently, RIM developed 1/2 a solution (Docs to Go Premium 3.0) for the device only. Who knows when (or if) RIM will develop a Desktop version (like DataViz had)?

That's funny shit. Not even RIM is bothering to support 7.0. I think BBOS is going to be a bad memory within a year or two.

Yes! Finally found out after a call *from* Senior-level RIM Support that Documents to Go Files was needed on the BB. This was *after* a few calls, a terse letter to RIM Corporate HQ and really bad technical advice from RIM Support that basically said "no can do.. you have to manually sync."

The Senior support specialist did say the directions were unclear. That's what happens when RIM owns the BB part of Docs to Go and DataViz owns the Desktop application. DataViz is not without some culpability here. They just "wash their hands" at *any* question involving RIM and Docs to Go, even they own the Desktop version used to sync with the BB.

I'll have to see how it works over time, but let's say that I'm cautiously optimistic. (That means I'll be surprised if it works 100% of the time!)

I have DocsToGoFILES on my 9810 - it STILL will not sync - I have to drag files into the 9810 using the FILEs function of DTM 6.1 - however, they then do show up in the MyDocsToGo folder. Very stupid, I agree . . .
