Default WI-FI and Reboots

Please Login to Remove!

In case this is helpful to anyone.

First issue:

WI-FI not connecting when WEP security enabled;

Found this on the web and it works. Set up your network with the WEP key. WI-FI is grayed out. Re-register the wireless host routing table: options - advanced options - host routing table - highlight Wi-Fi [60] - click menu and select register now. Registration message will be sent. Reboot phone. WI-FI now works.

Second issue;

My bold was rebooting twice a day. I reformatted the bold. No reboots. Once Ixxx8217;ve set up WI-FI and left it on, bold was rebooting twice a day again. So if any of you are having reboot problems try disabling WI-FI and see how you go.

I had that kind of experience with my first Bold. It was TIM Italia unlock and the first time I got rebooting was when I tried to use wi-fi. Then it reboots and reboots again and again, almost two or three times a day. I tried to upgrade the firm wire until it reached the highest version at that time (215) but still the rebooting activity. The other thing that worried me was the temprature of my handheld that increased in about 5-10 minutes of browsing or chatting. The solution? Just send it back to your provider. Believe me, it's the hardware and not the firm wire.
Now I got my second unlock Bold 9000 Telstra unlock. No rebooting and all in perfect condition, except: the hand held still got warm, the temprature tend to increase ad it frustrated me too.
Just see if your handheld get hot also, if it happens. Just sell it back.

My Bold used to reset when the Wifi was on as well. I turned it off, don't need it anyway, and haven't had a problem since.
