Default Importing Contacts From Outlook

Please Login to Remove!

I have got my BB Bold connected to my PC via USB and I am looking to import my contacts from my old N95.

I have seen several people say that you only have to put the contacts in to Outlook, (I have done this) and then Synch them together.

When I open BB Desktop Manager I go to Synch, I choose One Way Synch To Device. I then press OK with Address Book checked but absolutely nothing happens, it just takes me back to the screen with the Synch Config.

I have also tried plugging both phones in and doing the Device > Device thing but stupidly it only allows Palms/Treo's to connect via this method.

Can someone please help as this is really bugging me!

Thanks.

Use the Switch Device Manager. Hit Switch Device, then choose the option for non-blackberry device first, connect and backup data, connect BB when prompted and you are on your way!

Good Luck!

Many thanks for your response. I am using BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.6, when I go to Device Switch I see these two options:

Switch BlackBerry Devices
Import device data from your current BlackBerry device to a new Blackberry device.

or

Switch from another device to a BlackBerry device
Import organizer data from a Palm device or a Windows Mobile powered device to a BlackBerry device.

The Nokia doesn't fall into the Palm or Windows Mobile powered sections. These are the only two I see in this option? I tried doing the different device bit but when I get to the next page both Palm/Treo Software and Windows Mobile software are the only two options, I can't select either of these.

Any idea? Am I missing something obvious?

Just choose switch from another device to a blackberry device. It doesn't matter the type. It will work. Take a deep breath and push the button!

I choose 'Device Switch Wizard' with both the BB and N95 connected to the PC.

Then 'Switch from another device to a BlackBerry device.'

Migration Wizard pops up, I press 'Next.'

I then get this, where I cannot click any buttons or change settings:

Default What version of Outlook are you using?

I had problems synching with Outlook until I replaced Outlook 2000 or XP or something with Outlook 2003, which I had but wasn't using because I used to use shared folders, and 2003 no longer had them.

I tried creating a new profile in Outlook, to no avail.

I can still see my contacts in the program but it acts like there's nothing to sync.

I know it's definitely seeing Outlook okay as it had both the profiles for me to choose from.

I should probably point out I've not used Outlook before now, I don't have an email address linked to it or anything, I literally made a profile just to transfer my contacts over. Would this have anything to do with it?

I wish I could help but I think if you read back through the thread and follow the instructions that have been given you will be fine. It really is an easy process and the directions are already posted so I would say take a deep breath and start over and follow the directions. Good luck

I have tried several times, it honestly won't work.

If I try to sync from Outlook then the program just acts as though nothing is in Outlook, if I try to do Switch device I get stuck on a page where I can't click anything.

I seriously don't understand what I'm doing wrong, if no-one else can help then later I'll do a step-by-step to show you every button I click so that people can tell me where I've screwed up.

Really, really fed up with trying to do this now, as you say, it should be simple.

Try not having them both connected at the same?

From a slightly different starting point I have the same problem.
I am new to Blackberry and have just had my Bold replaced due to a software glitch.
I had downloaded all my Outlook contacts when I set the original phone up a month ago using DM4.6, but now when I go to sychronise and select "synchronise organizer data" then hit the synchronise button, it comes up with a message box containing "No applications configured for sychronisation". What does this mean?

Ditto with deefekshon's experience on the Device Switch Wizard.

I get the felling we are missing something relatively simple, but what?

Desk top mgr 4.6 hit the sync. On your sync screen on the left hand side hit sync under configuration and than configure your settings. Give that a try and see if that works as you need to tell it to sync with outlook and ect.
