They rarely do. You have to "get Images"

I guess all my Service Books are there... I will now have to wait till our company upgrades to the newest version of BES. Thanks fo your help

Is this a BIS only thread? I have an 8330 with 4.5.0.77 with Verizon on a BES and there is no choice to select to enable HTML in Options, even after a hard reset. Any ideas? Thanks

Your company's BES needs an upgrade to 4.1.6 in order to get HTML email.

Or, from what I understand there is a way to change the 4.1.5... You can load the 4.5 on the handheld but if the server does not support the html feature, you will not see it.

I still can't get html on .97 on my 8330. I understand why my BES emails won't display, as I've confirmed we don't have the version needed on our BES, but for BIS, I've deleted the accounts, resent service books, battery pulls in between each step, still no images will download.

Don't know what happened, but now images download on BES and BIS messages. Weird, but great.

I just replaced my BlackBerry 8830 (under warranty) due to a failing USB charging/data port. I used the Desktop Manager to transfer all data from the old device to the new, and the device automatically initiated an Enterprise Activation to re-establish the BES connection and to restore BES settings/data. I was able to receive/send e-mail on all of my accounts (BES plus ten BIS), but HTML e-mail did not work on the new device for any of the BIS accounts even though it was properly configured. Resending service books did not correct the problem, and I was reluctant to delete the accounts from BIS as indicated by JSanders because I have configured dozens of filters over time. I tried deleting Service Books associated with the BIS accounts, rebooting via battery pull, resending service books from the BIS site, and I was good to go:
- Delete BIS account-specific Service Books on the BlackBerry.
- Remove battery to reboot the BlackBerry.
- Following reboot, confirm that the Service Books are not on the BlackBerry.
- Resend the Service Books from your BIS.
- You should get a BlackBerry Server Activation message from your carrier on your BlackBerry for each account configured on the BIS.
Also, I discovered that for HTML messages that were received in the interim (but displayed as plain text), you can simply forward them to yourself in order regain the HTML formatting on the device.

I cannot seem to enable the "Enable HTML Email" option to even appear.
I have an 8900 Curve from T-Mobile, version 4.6.1.114
I have followed the following steps, exactly:
Quote:
1. Remove your email account from the BIS. Where can I log into my BIS account? - BlackBerryFAQ
2. Delete your Service Books on the BB. (Options > Advanced > Service Books) Delete those pertaining to your email containing the @ symbol and your email address.
3. Remove battery and reboot the BB.
4. Confirm the Service Books are not on the BB.
5. Reset the account on your BIS.
6. Resend the Service Books from your BIS.
7. You should get a Registration message from AT&T, on your BB. If not soon, pull the battery and reboot the BB again.
8. Turn on your HTML email again from you Message options.

..with no luck.
I have also changed the APN from epc.tmobile.com to wap.voicestream.com, again, no luck.
What am I missing? Thanks.

You're missing nothing. The 8900 has HTML in the OS already.

It does not display HTML within emails. It displays email messages with HTML as links only, with no options to display images/ HTML.

I would like to add my situation to this thread to see if anyone has a fix for it. I am using an 8330 on a BES with Verizon. I have recently upgraded my device OS from 4.5.0.77 to 4.5.0.160 - I have actually reloaded this OS three times trying to get this to work. I was getting all my e-mail in HTML format properly before I upgraded, but now that I have upgraded, everything shows up in plain text - no images. I do not have the options to display HTML or images in my messages settings list. Each time I processed the Enterprise Activation, it reloaded my service books for me. I also pulled the battery before and after each reload.
I don't know whether it was just a coincidence or not, but at the same time that I upgraded my OS, our company also transferred to a different BES server. I assume it is running the latest version, but I haven't been able to confirm that. The administrator has not responded to my inquiry yet.
If anyone has any thoughts or advice on this situation, I am open for them. Thanks.
