got from my friend.. so need to change os..
cause this i got is OS 5.0.0.70
and my friend is 4.6.1.xxx

i see that john clark have the os.. :( dont know he will give me try or no;)

Why do people always ask where you get a pre release? They're not gonna tell you exactly how, you just see they have it.

well thats fair enough, but as the phone hasnt been released by a carrier, there isnt any OS's out there!

Not necessarily. I know people with OS's for these phones. It's not that hard to get them if you know the right people.

ok. i will happily admit i stand corrected.
Why would you want to downgrade the OS from an OS that everyone is desperate to have?
Surely OS 5 on the device is better than a 4.6.1 OS?

.70 is fairly old in the OS 5 beta releases. I wouldn't want to run it. That being said, you probably can't run any OS on the device under v5.

Gemini is designed to work with 5.0 or better (when released OFFICIALLY). It won't accept a lower OS because they will not be designed for that device. Any lower OS's "floating around" are not considered "available". The tosser that gives you one is probably violating some agreements with RIM as a beta tester. When RIM notices this he'll get his status as a beta tester yanked and have the OP to thank.

take a small look over the great seas on your left 'n' right bank:
the v4.6.1.272 for the 8520 is opened by the blackberry-carriers in indonesia (telkomsel, indosat and xl)
and also by scattered carriers in europe.
