Ooops!
I also recommend sticking with either Vista or XP when updating, Windows 7 didn't help....!

i'll speak out of turn (as i'm no longer using a Pearl, much less this OS), but for the Curve the jump from .102 to .110 was a solid improvement in responsiveness and stability, as well as better memory usage.

probably similar results for this release... but technically - these are just "bug fixes".

my bet: we're not likely to see any significant OS or app "upgrades" until a 4.6 is developed for the Pearl and Curve.

upgraded right yesterday to version 4.5.0.139/4.5.0.102... :P
will try this one because I'm looking for speed!

btw...my OperaMini browser doesn't work any more with the old security options: now I just can't keep the fiewall ON and it must be OFF (otherwise I get an error after several messages), and while loading I am always asked to confirm connection to the server for any website I would like to visit....and in the security options for the OperaMini application are set ALL to Allow!!! how can I fix this? I have made several battery reset but with no good news.... THANK YOU!!

is this your current os?

look in my signature: my pearl is now 2.5 years old - started with a v4.2.0
now - with v4.5.0.110 - its a brandnew and fresh multifunction office- and multimediamachine.
inside runs a 8gb-card (potential: 16gb!), documents-to-go integrated, html works.

when you love your pearl - change your os!

Does it fix the issue with the End key?

Current I have 4.5.0.102 and I can't turn off my phone by holding the end key.

Yeah I guess I'll update to this before I get rid of my pearl for the 8900 next month. Better late than never I guess. The thing runs good on 2.1.107 and Tmob never came out with another one. There may be a reason for that. I'm obviously not one who jumps onto every update. I usually want to have a new feature or for it to fix something I notice wrong before I mess with it. I know I don't get HTML email, but most of that is garbage logos and stuff that I'd rather not have.

your (and ours) os coming from rim. only from rim. not from tmo (or other carrier)

from the carrier only comes the servicebooks to your phone.

Can in still use this file if I'm on a BES or do I need my IT staff to be involved with the upgrade? I know our BES supports v 4.5 because we have users with 8900s.

Thanks

Installed it yesterday. Didn't find any differencies in speed between .99, .102 and .110 All 3 releases are stable for me.

I've seen a few people already ask but I haven't seen an answer to the following question... what are the improvements with this version?

No one can really answer that as RIM doesn't provide release notes.

And since I have an 8130, it looks like I can't upgrade the OS on my phone since it's not listed on their site as an available download. :(
