How can i write start with this keyboard?

my handheld is in cal mode and i must type S T A R T on keyboard to go up ,but when i type these letter nothing happen,
my question is,how can i type S & R ?
you already know that the keyboard of 8100 has two letter in one key like this

Try switching from suretype to multitap using the option-button.
Do the buttons work, when you try to write a new message? Else your phone may be broken and has to be repaired/replaced.
