I've noticed a prob trying to log into a secure website. Takes me right to the browser start page instead of the proper site after I enter my login specifics.

OS6 is great on my 9700, this will be enough to keep me from switching platforms. The browser was RIM's Achilles heel. It took them long enough to fix!!!!!

Yes it did take a while to get Webkit implemented - 13mths actually.
Yet are you not glad, ney entertained, that proper Bookmarking remains, Opening new tabs or opening links into new tabs a feature!?

What I hope for next is ability to take a long URL and have it resized to a tinyurl for sourcing.

The improved browser is, in my opinion so far, the only reason why one would upgrade to 6.0. The rest are merely for cosmetics and presentation--in short, nothing 5.0 cannot do.

For a quick second I thought the numbered sequence in your signature where 2 numbers from each 9700 (BIS/BES)
"950-957-6210-6720-7290-8700-8310"
950-957-6210/6720 ... then I saw the 7290 and new you where stating devices lol.

I think I'll look for a 950 while I also do a HUP to the 9780 this week. Reuters Pro works on BB6; and its been updated to 3.0.0 with a new icon - fast as every.

Seems to me that battery life with 6.0 is exactly the same as with 5.0.

other thing I like on the OS6 is to "Mark an email as SPAM" right from the device. All Canadian Pharmacy catalogs are trashed in recycle right away.

I tried it and I think it depends on the secured website/application. I am experiencing the problems mentioned above when trying to access my accounts to my Bank of America application, but my American Express application works just fine. Hopefully an application or OS update will fix that in the near future.

Blackberry AppWorld reviews for the Bank of America app show that to use the Blackberry App you must change the internet browser to Firefox. How do we do that?

You can't. Those options no longer exist in OS 6.

For now everything is a little bit better then 5.0 OS but browser is still bad and slow. It has not have half of speed of Iphone or Xperia and that is why I am thinking to change my device.
I realy like my 9700 but can´t wait better browser any more, Iphone and Android users are in advantage.
Anybody else tested other devices browsers?

Prior to this year, Safari (Apple) was the best browser. This year, Froyo (Google) is touted to be even better than Safari.

This is also available in OS 5.

Default OS 6 rocks for the 9700!

I am so very impressed. Here are a few things that I've noticed though....and I do realize this is a leaked OS so all with a grain of salt:

- Weather Eye does not work correctly - now using Weather Plus
- NYT App does not work correctly.
- Icons do not remain in the order they are placed on the Favorites tab so I have to use the All tab to keep my top 6 in front of me.

It runs incredibly smooth so I wonder what a faster processor and 256mb more ram would do? Make it seamless I bet.

Love the browser, love the calendar et al. Way to go.

That's it! I was going to go and buy a Torch but I think I'll use the 9700 for a while longer and see what RIM has coming beyond the Torch...probably not what the good folks at RIM want to hear.

So i"ve had OS 6 since the day it was leaked. I am very happy with it boot-up time has greatly improved, way more user friendly, camera works way better, and slightly more simplified navigation! <---pros

Cons-> no column view, no image resolution options, eats quite a bit memory, battery life has shortened slightly!

Problems that i have ran into: SMS mesages will not send unless i do a battery pull(happens 1-2 a day), some web pages are to big?????(no problem before), sometimes it takes a few pushes of the unlock button to turn the screen on. For the first few days it ran with no lagging now im getting lag? Few more thing just think of them right now.

No issues really here.
the cursor missing from chats or anything is a little annoying but you can just push the shift left key to highlight and see where you are
fast
faster boot time
all my apps work
twitter, facebook, google maps, horoscope, capturit, weathereye.
my favourites stay in the same place
over all quite impressed, very refreshing gives the berry new life.
