Default BlackBerry 9530 Caller ID not working properly

Please Login to Remove!

I know call display is a network feature but I've noticed something odd since I received my Verizon branded (unlocked) BlackBerry 9530 and started using it on Rogers Wireless.

With my other BlackBerries I had no issues in seeing the incoming callers phone number but with the 9530 all my calls show up as Unknown Number (local and long distance).

These same callers can call me and on my other BlackBerries the number would always show up. Earlier today I switched back to the 9000 and had someone call me and the number displayed. When I switched back to the 9530 and had them call me the number showed up as Unknown Number.

Is there anyway to change this?

Is your device password protected? Is the content encryption on the Storm enabled?

Since Caller ID is a hardwired function and there are no settings that control it (other than to restrict your identity) the only other thing that jumps out is that you are using an unauthorized phone on the Rogers network. There have been no complaints of this nature with authorized Verizon users.

Having said this, I don't see why this should make a difference, but it is the only thing from your description that stands out. 73

I know plenty of "unauthorized" 9530's on Rogers, CID is not an issue. Smart Dialing settings maybe.

I had the same problem. Caller ID worked before I activated my storm and was listed on my account as an active feature but every call came in as "unkown caller." A 60 second call to my provider solved it. Not sure how things work on Rogers, but apparently Caller ID is not only a feature of the device but is also feature on verizon that has to be provisioned in the switch for it to work properly. Wont hurt to give it a shot.

Hey guys i have the EXACT same problem some phone numbers show up as "unknown" where they should show up and are in my address book whereas others show up fine. About 60% show up unknown the rest shoe up fine. I have called rogers and they have reset me on the network twice and still same problem i have disabled content protection. I'm thinking it might be firmware i am installing 106 see if it is a reoccuring problem
