Default Recent Address cacheing

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

We have a user that has some issues with address cacheing which I have seen with my own eyes

To look into this I did a full device reload as a starter.

Testing, I typed an email address in and it was cached as expected. Then about two weeks later the cached address disappeared (as you would imagine since they would be cleared after a while), however if you type in the address and send to it again the address is not cached at all. This does not seem to happen to all addresses, only selected ones.

I realise the user can place the addresses in their contacts so it will always auto-complete however this would be cumbersome for the user.

Does anyone have any ideas at all please? It is frustrating the user.

Thanks very much in advance for any replies!

The only thing I could find at RIM's site is this can be related to the cache time limit set by the BES server options for the user.

Maybe!

LOL, thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately we are not on a BES so maybe that takes something out of the equation.

Maybe the carriers server. Might be worth a call. Cache should be local to the BB but maybe they are doing something no one else has noticed.

They claim they should not be altering the way addresses are cached. :( Also, FYI, I have checked the memory clearing function is not activated.

Thanks again.

Any other suggestions please?

The only thing I can think of is to ask the user to add them manually to their contacts which is not idfeal as he mails quite a few varied people.
