What should I do with my old 9700?
Please Login to Remove!
Next week I'll be receiving my new Rogers 9900 handset...really looking forward to it. However that leaves me wondering what to do with my old Bell 9700. It's still in pretty good shape, although the Bluetooth functionality seems to be getting a little flaky. Any suggestions for a useful fate for it?

Backup device for when you go to the beach, etc.
Sell it on this forum's marketplace.

If you sell it, make sure you wipe it to remove all of your data.

A glorious MP3 player? with LogicMail you can still check mail and with opera browser, browse internet when connected to wifi.
And regarding the use as an mp3 player, I have an app that can sync mp3s over wifi: hxxp://sourceforge.net/projects/bbwifimusicsync/

Re: What should I do with my old 9700?
My opinion is always keep a backup BlackBerry. My option #2 is to hand it down. And I think there is a used market for just about any GSM phone, so selling it is no question an option.

Re: What should I do with my old 9700?
When I was looking for a 9700, I would have said sell it. Now that I have one again, I say keep it. If you don't need the financial gain from it, use it as a backup phone.

Re: What should I do with my old 9700?
I can tell you what NOT to do with it, don't use the blackberry trade up program that will give you a tempting $C note for your old device. Your old device is worth more than $100 even in its current state. But if you have any doubts RIM will give you $100 for the device.
I have my old 7200 as my backup... It's the only one I replaced while it was still working...
