Default 8830 (World Phone) vs. 8330 (Storm)

Please Login to Remove!

Hello. I have had a great experience with my Sprint 8830 World Phone, but my company is moving to Verizon. I have the choice of purchasing another 8830 on VZW or a Curve. Can anyone that has owned both devices please give me some input on what they dislike / like between both?

Thanks.

8830
Pros - I typed real fast on that keyboard, very solid device, works around the world if your gonna travel.

Cons - Half the Memory as the Curve, kind of large like holding a pop-tart next to your face a big reason why I used a BT headset most of the time.

8330

Pros - Twice the memory, Camera, smaller form factor then 8830 so its more comfortable to hold up to your face, spaced out keyboard

Cons - Really none.

Granted the keyboard is all preference and you can find 4.5 for both devices, so software wise they can do the same thing, big thing is the form factor see which one is more comfortable for you? Curve is smaller, twice the memory, has a camera, and more spaced out keyboard.

FYI - 8330 is the Curve, 9530 is the Storm.

Thanks. Guess I had Storm on the brain - I meant to say Curve. Tried the Storm today, bty, and loved the device, but the deal breaker is the keyboard. Not for me.

mariog7: I loved my 8830, but now I have a Storm. Go and spend a couple hours reading

ULTIMATE Official tips/tricks ONLY - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

I am 67 yrs. old and this old dog continues to learn new tricks, including the Storm KYBD.

However, as I mentioned to David Pogue, the Storm does not have a thought entry channel (yet).

I had the 8830 before I left to get an iphone, then eventually make my way back to Verizon. Bought a used 8703e while waiting for the storm. 2 storms later I'm on on a new Curve and love it.

Compared to the Curve, I had a horrible time typing on the 8830. I thought the keyboard was too small and the individual keys were way too hard to use compared to the Curve. That was the breaker for me. Typing on the Curve is great.

I would definitly mess around with them and find which one you are more comfortable with. Everyone has there own opinion on the keyboard, it's a love/hate type thing.
