Default I can’t transfer photos from my DTEK50 to my Mac

Please Login to Remove!

I can’t transfer photos from my DTEK50 to my Mac laptop. I have connected the DTEK to the Mac with a USB cable & get “Can’t access device storage” DTEK does not show up on the Mac desktop, although it does activate “Android Transfer” on the Mac. I have tried “Content Transfer” on the DTEK but get a blank screen on the Mac.
Any ideas, please?

This is a Blackberry developers site but the information on moving files to a Mac are there.

How to copy files to, or from PRIV, DTEK50 or DTEK60 using macOS | Inside BlackBerry Help Blog

Generally when you look at a cell phones storage you need to either look at internal memory or a SIM storage chip. If the files are not on internal memory you may need to remove the chip and using an adapter plug it into the pc. I had to do that for a photo and now only save to internal memory to avoid the problem.
The other option is to download Blackberry LINK for Mac OS. I use that and it shows all files.

Thanks for that. I’ve installed Blackberry Link, Blackberry Blend and Blackberry Desktop Software and it still doesn't work. I've also tried a different USB cable. I don’t know what version of Blackberry software I have (how can I find out?) but I have Android version 6.0.1, and OS 10.11.6 on the Mac.
I'm at my wit's end!

Although the manual does not clearly indicate how to see the OS level. It may be available by checking to see if an update is available.

Tap > About phone > System updates > Check for update

This may show the current Android OS level

someone who has the DTEK may be able to give more info.

Finally, the answer is really quite simple! I uploaded the pix to Dropbox, whereupon they appeared instantly on my Mac:

Well at least you found a solution. Very surprised direct connection did not work.
