I recently got a notification on my BB that App World ver. 2.0.1.12 is availabe. I was going to download it but had forgotten my password. The site led me to a password recovery page and it has hanged there ever since.

I did get an email with a link to change my password and that seemed to work (i think the link used the internet browser).

However, my BB App World is still stuck.

On Windows mobile, there is a separate Tasks program where you can choose 'end task' if a program hangs. Is there something similar in Blackberry? How do I reset App World?

I hope someone can help me.

You dont need a password to update, i just updated mine and created new user name and password. If you update without creating a new id you will get " cannot connect to blackberry server". However once having done this you may want to remember your password this time. Everytime you want to download a application it will ask to enter you password again.

Basically go ahead and update to the new version then create a whole new id then download.

Describe "stuck"...When you say app world is hanging on the password recovery page, is the BlackBerry frozen, or is app world alone unresponsive...what?

You may want to do a hard reset (battery pull with the power on, for 30 seconds) and then pick up where you left off after the device reboots.
