Default Verizon BB does not allow signature to be changed

Please Login to Remove!

I have an 8330, on Verizon. I followed the FAQ to update my signature. But that does not work. I can get to the EDIT screen for that email account (on the BIS website for VZW), and there are boxes to be edited, like Reply-To address, Name, etc. And the Signature line is there, but alas, unlike all the other lines, that one is not a text box. It is not editable.

I assume this must be a Verizon-specific stupidity, but I wanted to confirm. Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas?

Did you go to the web site on your BlackBerry or on a pc? In either case, try deleting the browser cache and re-try.

You can change it on the web or on the BB, not very hard.

Tried all that. I click on the Email Settings icon on the BB, which of course takes you to the email admin site for VZW. Signed in. Clicked "edit" for my BIS email account. I have changeable text boxes for: "email Account Name", "Reply to", "Your Name", "Password", "Auto BCC to". But TWO fields just show the text, no editing possible: "user name" and "Signature".

So yeah, not very hard to follow the instructions, but very hard to change an unchangeable field.

I did it from the BB. I have never tried it from a PC, but I will now. I'll also try your suggestion on clearing the browser cache (though I need to figure out how to do that).

OK so, clearing the browser cache didn't do anything. I get the exact same problem.

But, when I log into the site on my PC instead of on my BB, I CAN change the signature! So I changed it. Logged into the site from the BB again, and sure enough, it shows the change I made from the PC. But, still not able to edit it.

Weird. Still don't know why the BIS site for VZW from my browser won't allow me to change that, but, the PC works for this purpose, so the workaround is there.
